Payment following your admission

Bring valid identification with you for your hospital admission or consultation. Without valid ID, you will receive the full hospital invoice and will need to contact your health insurance fund yourself for reimbursement. This also applies to children under 12 years old. Accepted forms of identification include: eID, electronic foreigner’s card, ISI+ card, Kids-ID, certificate of loss or theft of the Belgian eID, certificate of social insurance (while awaiting an ISI+ card), and international passport.

Overview of charges

The cost of your hospital stay depends on your room choice and the legally required personal contribution (co-payment) that you must pay yourself. Your invoice provides a detailed overview of the charges, divided into up to 8 categories.
Are you being admitted to the hospital for a day or longer? Then you will need to sign an admission declaration on the day of your admission. The admission declaration provides an overview of your personal contributions to the costs.
