Dagziekenhuis 10

Apheresis
At this day hospital, patients come to have a blood component such as blood cells or plasma removed, exchanged, or collected.

Welcome to our ward

At Dagziekenhuis 10, you can undergo apheresis. This is the umbrella term for several procedures in which a blood component (e.g. platelets, plasma, or stem cells) is removed, exchanged, or collected.

The main activities performed here are:

  • Stem cell collection: collecting stem cells from the blood.
  • Leukapheresis (white blood cell collection): collecting white blood cells.
  • Plasmapheresis: separating the plasma from the blood cells and removing it to eliminate a harmful substance from the blood.
  • Red blood cell exchange: separating red blood cells from the blood to remove and replace them with donor red blood cells.

On this page, you’ll find general information about the day hospital (contact, location and accessibility), followed by more specific information per procedure. We hope this will help guide you and make your visit as smooth as possible.
