Saying goodbye to a deceased person

You can visit the mortuary to say goodbye to the deceased from Monday to Friday between 14 and 17 hrs. During the weekend and on public holidays this is possible in the morning and by appointment only.

Opening times

  • Working days: from 14 to 17 hrs

  • Weekends and public holidays: from 9 to 12:30 hrs - by telephone appointment only

  • Please make sure to arrive 15 minutes before closing time. 

Location and accessibility

  • Sign at reception in the entrance hall. You can find the mortuary on the grey arrow.

The UZ Leuven management and staff want to extend their sincerest condolences at the passing of your loved one. 

For emotional support, you can always get in touch with the social worker or one of the pastoral care workers of our hospital

You can always request the support of a pastoral care worker to:

  • say goodbye together.
  • support you.
  • pray together.
  • perform a farewell ritual.

Different beliefs

Maximum consideration is given to the deceased's religious beliefs, including in the context of a legal enquiry.
