Supplementary room charges and doctor's fees

Every patient pays a co-payment for hospital stay costs. This is a fixed personal contribution per day of hospitalisation, legally set regardless of the type of room you stay in. In addition, for a single room, you pay a room supplement and a supplementary doctor’s fee.

Room supplement

If you opt for a single room, a room supplement is charged per day of hospitalisation.

If you stay in a single room for medical reasons, or if you did not request the single room yourself, no room supplement will be charged.

Supplementary doctor’s fee

Your treating doctor charges a supplement on top of the base fee. In principle, this supplement may be up to 150% of the base fee. Discuss this with your doctor in advance.
