CCTV

UZ Leuven wants to create a safe environment for its patients, visitors and employees. To this end, our internal surveillance service uses amongst others CCTV cameras.

The CCTV cameras are located in both publicly accessible and non-publicly accessible areas. The legal pictogramme for CCTV surveillance which is visible present, reminds you that you are being filmed.

The recordings are kept for a maximum of 30 days. Access to, and use of, the images is limited in accordance with the right to privacy and the principles of data protection rights.

Recordings will be passed on to the police if criminal offences or suspicious situations have occurred. This can be done at the request of the police or self-initiated.

Our internal surveillance service (0419.052.173) is insured against bodily or material ensuing from the execution of its private security activities. Injured parties can contact Amlin Insurance SE (Koning Albert II-laan 37, 1030 Brussels) directly. The policy number is 99.053.700.
