The decision to administer forced medication is made by the care team, always in consultation with the physician and supervisor.

The request for administering forced medication can come from any team member, in agreement with and consultation with other team members.

The nurse who carries out the measure must have the skills to handle all procedures related to forced medication and physical management of the patient. They must also be able to explain the measure as clearly as possible to the patient, their family, and other caregivers.
