Research facilities at CCP

Small but beautiful…

Located within the University Hospitals of Leuven, the facilities at the Center for Clinical Pharmacology are ideally positioned to provide a professional GCP environment to safely conduct trials in the exploratory phase of clinical drug development.

The Center for Clinical Pharmacology is a small to medium size Academic Research Organisation conducting exploratory clinical trials. Thirty (30) beds are available for in-house stay to perform these trials in accordance with the highest safety and quality requirements. In-house volunteer catering is handled by the hospital kitchen which can provide any kind of diet required by the trial protocol specifications. A GMP pharmacy is located on site for non-sterile Investigational Medicinal Products. The Center for Clinical Pharmacology has an in-house laboratory for sample preparation, handling and storage by trained laboratory staff. Routine safety laboratory assessments are immediately processed 24 hours a day by the ISO-certificated laboratory of the University Hospital. Also in collaboration with the University Hospital the safety of trial participants is guaranteed by a 24/7 emergency service with trained physicians and nurses.

In close collaboration with the Department of Nuclear Medicine, having a GMP certified radiopharmacy, and the ISO-certified Leuven imaging group, all State-of-the-art facilities are operational on site for complex imaging trials. To that end a wide range of radiolabeled tracers is available. You are kindly referred to our publication list for a more extensive overview of previous experience with imaging trials.

Taken together, it is fair to say that our clinical research facilities are small in size, but big in performance… just what you are looking for!
