Mission Lucidity

UZ Leuven is one of the founding partners of Mission Lucidity, an interdisciplinary research project with KU Leuven, the VIB and imec which aims to unravel dementia and other neurogedenerative disorders.

Mission Lucidity builds bridges between clinicians, basic scientists and engineers in order to reach groundbreaking scientific and medical solutions for neurodegenerative disorders.

The multidisciplinary teams work on several research projects which all aim to develop new technological aids, predominantly applied to Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The focus is various treatment aspects, ranging from prevention and early diagnosis to intervention and curing.

The initiative has been started in Leuven but has international ambitions: there are for instance already ongoing partnerships with the UK Dementia Research Institute and Stanford University in the USA.
