Hirschsprung’s disease

A rare congenital bowel disease in which stool cannot move towards the anus because nerve cells are absent from a specific part of the bowel wall. As a result, stool cannot pass through and constipation occurs.

Multidisciplinary approach

This video is a recording of a three-hour session on the multidisciplinary approach to Hirschsprung’s disease.

This conference is the second in a series of inter-university training sessions between the department of abdominal surgery of UZ Leuven (KU Leuven) and the general and abdominal paediatric surgery unit of Cliniques Saint-Luc (UCLouvain) in Brussels, with the aim of improving interaction between all care providers.

The target audience therefore includes not only consultants, but also trainee specialists, nurses, other paramedical staff, students and other interested parties.
