Before the treatment starts, you will meet the radiation-oncologist, a physician specialised in radiation treatments and more specifically also in proton therapy. This first contact can take place on the radiation department itself, in the consultation area or the ward. The radiation- oncologist will discuss with you which treatment will be most suitable for you (the treatment plan), as well as the practical arrangements and the various steps in the treatment.
If you want, you can talk to the social worker of the radiation department after. Together with you she will look for solutions for practical problems. If you have been admitted to the hospitals, you can also ask for the social worker of your ward.
