UZ Leuven Charity

With a donation to UZ Leuven Charity, you, as a donor, leave the choice of how it is invested to the hospital itself. UZ Leuven guarantees that the donations are used appropriately.

A donation can be used to support clinical research, but it can also pay for expensive, non-reimbursed medicines, implants or therapies for vulnerable patients. Donations are also used to improve the context of care, meaning everything that makes things easier, more bearable or more comfortable for patients or their loved ones.

Context of care

Your support allows us to relieve vulnerable patients of practical worries and help cover costs associated with their actual medical care. Examples include transport to and from the hospital, interpreting services, hairdressing, and the care and accommodation of family members during a loved one’s hospital stay, etc.

Support clinical research

In addition to providing medical care, UZ Leuven strives to be a pioneer in clinical research. Passionate researchers from UZ Leuven and KU Leuven work together on sustainable innovations. With your support, we can deliver ever better patient care and increasingly personalised treatments.

Expensive care

Even in Belgium, the cost of treatment still hits many people who were already struggling. Your support can be used to help the most vulnerable patients pay for an expensive medicine, medical procedure or technique for which there is (as yet) no reimbursement.

If you donate at least €40 per year, you are entitled to a tax certificate and a tax reduction of 45% on the amount donated. You will receive your certificate in March of the year following your donation.

How you can support us

Donations

With a donation, you decide for yourself how much you give and whether this is a one-off or a regular contribution. Both one-off and recurring gifts are tax-deductible from €40 upwards.

Would you like your company to contribute to warm care initiatives or research within UZ Leuven? Our donation adviser will guide you through the options and present the different ways in which you can break ground together with UZ Leuven for our patients.
