Medical Fellow in Training (referred to as “ASO” in Belgium) – Radiation-Oncology UZ Leuven/KU Leuven

Setting

Within the Radiotherapy-Oncology department of the University Hospital Leuven we have a vacancy for a Medical Fellow in Training to become a Radiation-Oncologist.

This concerns full-time employment for a full curriculum (5 years).

What your position involves:

  • The radiation-oncology training takes five years, at least 1 year of which outside our university hospital. As a medical fellow in training, you follow the Master after Master in specialist medicine at KU Leuven, and in addition to clinical skills you also acquire skills as a scientist, communicator and manager.
  • As a medical fellow in training, you work full time in the radiation oncology department, but internships in the palliative care and general medical oncology departments are also part of your training.

What we ask

  • You successfully completed your medical studies or hope to complete them soon (at an EU hospital or with an EU accreditation).
  • Willingness to obtain an acceptance certificate of KU Leuven (necessary to start a course in accordance with the Royal Decree of 1999).
  • You have a proven interest in radiotherapy and oncology.
  • You are enthusiastic, ambitious, and eager to learn.
  • You function well in a team.
  • You have good communicative skills and a flexible work attitude.
  • You have a good communication in written and spoken Dutch (at least B2 level).
  • Clinical experience can be an added value but is not necessary.
