Symposium Thoraxheelkunde

The staff members of the department of thoracic surgery at the University Hospitals Leuven invite you to attend their yearly symposium. The theme of this year is for the morning session 'Pediatric thoracic pathology', in the afternoon 'Achalasia and complicated GERD situations' will be discussed.
We are very proud to have a well-known national and international Faculty.
The Huub and Imelda Spierings lecture will this year be given by professor Mark Orringer, professor at the University of Michigan, USA. As one of the country's current leaders in the field of thoracic surgery, dr. Orringer has focused much of his academic career on the diagnosis and treatment of benign and maligant esophageal disease. He has developed two esophageal operations: the combined Collis Nissen hiatal hernia repair and the transhiatal esophagectomy without thoracotomy.
