This International Symposium on: ‘Transplantation for non-transplant physicians: a Clinical State of the Art' will be held in Leuven on March 3rd, 2012. It is already the 13th of its kind organized under the endorsement of the GlaxoSmithKline Chair for Respiratory Pharmacology of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.
The symposium will try to answer different questions related to transplantation and immunosuppressive treatment that are frequently raised by the practicing physician. It will specifically focus on several clinical aspects of organ donation (including indications for living related lung donation), candidate selection for lung transplantation, thoracic surgery in transplant candidates, the role of viral infections in the modem era of respiratory diseases and the complications of immunosuppressive treatment in general. The final talk in the afternoon session will discuss the possibility of organ functio restoration in the near future.
We believe that this symposium will provide an interesting clinical update on these different topics, as experts of all over the world have been invited.
We do hope that this programme will, once again, obtain your interest and we look forward to welcome you in Leuven.
